Yes appreciated, but radiation and cosmic rays are to some extent a problem for the Moon and Mars as well (and space travel in general), so we can start learning the lessons there.

It could just be something so boring as a thick layer of material to act as a shield, but really who knows what mitigations can be developed over the next 100, 200, 300 years?

It suppose it just puzzles me when you look at the progress made in physics, computing, materials sciences and so on that somebody can dismiss possibilities out of hand like that.

I'm not saying interstellar travel is possible, we're reaching pretty hard limits there just from the sheer scale, but within the solar system the problems don't seem insurmountable.
