I finally managed to get a pic of the space station last night, unfortunately I'm the world's worst photographer hehe

Though in my defence I completely forgot it was coming over, was just testing settings for the Persiads at the time, glanced up and saw it, then aimed the tripod in the rough direction in the pitch black...

(top left if you didn't spot it)

That was with a Samsung S3, streetlights and other bright stuff about and it still pops up quite visible as the white dot between the streetlight and the reflection of the streetlight on the guttering.

Shutter lock up, remote release, focus set to infinity (auto focus OFF and certainly no IS on)and have to check back on a previous for the f stop.

Edit. 33 seconds exposure on f5.6 got me a line across the image all the way.

Saw it for the first time last night, amazed at how bright it was. Looking forward to tonight's show!

I thought i saw it just after 11pm - however ISS Tracker had it as being heading out from Australia into the South Pacific!!!

Is ISS Tracker wrong?

Was out tonight watching the meteors and saw this bright thing go over. Wanted to think it was a B2 bomber, but now I see it must have been the ISS. West to east, maybe 11pm in the midlands. Saw it go red as it faded in the east too.

Made the night even better.

So how is it that four satellite trackers on the net all showed the ISS being down in the Southern Hemisphere at 11pm tonight?

Maybe it's crashing, biggrin.

Or maybe, it's what I initially thought it could be, a B2 Bomber, biggrin

Definitely the ISS.

It often appears to go red as it enters into the earth's shadow (for the same reason we get red sunsets).
