Dunno what that is bottom right. It's not a Perseid though.

Shutter lock up, remote release, focus set to infinity (auto focus OFF and certainly no IS on)and have to check back on a previous for the f stop.

Edit. 33 seconds exposure on f5.6 got me a line across the image all the way.

Thanks, that was manually focussed on infinity but it turns out I need to turn the focussing back a fraction to get stars (so presumably the ISS too) in focus, not sure if that's just a quirk of the lens but it seemed to work for stars.
From memory it was a 20 second exposure on f3.5 (wide open).

Just looking through some tinternet stuff and there a are a few infinities? Any experts care to elaborate? Looks like something to do with what focal length on a zoom lens if I understand it.

This one 2010

exif said
Exposure 30
Aperture f/13.0
Focal Length 28 mm
ISO Speed 800

Or this one 2013

Exif says
Exposure 33
Aperture f/5.6
Focal Length 112 mm
ISO Speed 100

Not sure what is the best.

Great view - almost 6 minutes!!!!! - as she flew over Gloucester. Watched until she turned red in the sky & disappeared into the distance.

Back over again in just over an hour - 11.49pm to be precise. And i saw a shooting star!!!!! Epic stuff.

I just was out in the garden looking for meteors, and I'm sure I saw the ISS going slowly past about 20 mins ago.

It was very bright, heading sort of west to east. I'm sure there was something much much fainter going north-west ish at the same time. A plane perhaps but would they have a star like visibility at high altitude? I can't think!

Saw it twice last night - a full overhead pas at 10.16 and a much shorter appearance at about 11.50. At that later time of the evening, with the sun well below the horizon, it entered the earth's shadow after it had covered about 1/3 of its path from horizon to horizon.

I went out to try and spot it last night from my current vantage point on an oil platform in the middle of the North Sea.

I think it must have been hiding behind some clouds frown

2124 and 2300 tonight, which is nuts considering it takes me that long to get to work and back, but the ISS has done a full orbit of the planet.

Mostly.

Sometimes they are discarded pieces of space junk - like booster rocket upper stages.

Stood outside last night gawping at stars with my friend. I wondered what time the iss was due to pass so checked my email for the latest spot the station update. 9:25 it said or thereabouts. I looked at the time and it was 10:49. I a short wait of a few minutes and there it was! Only about half a pass though before it went into shadow and disappeared overhead.

Thanks. Nice picture, it looked like it had been taken early afternoon.
