I did wonder about the movement thing as I remember 'spotting' ISS before and watching it move across the sky! The clouds covering it now but it was like twinkly star if that makes sense?!

It's nights like this I wish I had a telescope as the night sky absolutely fascinates me.

Can I see the ISS tonight? In the South sky? (with the naked eye, no telescope here!)??
Always travels west to east and you don't need a telescope to see it.

thumbup

Both were visible tonight. Saturn's the one that doesn't move (much)

Well worth getting the Google Sky Maps app, if you haven't already got it. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com....

There's a decent pass tomorrow (Thursday) night at 18:34. The passes start to fizzle out after that.

If it was changing colour and lower left of Orion it was Sirius, the Dog Star, and the brightest one in the sky. Jupiter is much higher and further left and doesn't twinkle as it's bigger than a point source - stars appear to twinkle because of atmospheric turbulance of a tiny point, planets are an actual disk.

Thanks for that timely reminder. I haven't seen it in a while and that was a very nice flyover.
