Can anyone explain why the change of potential energy to thermal energy is never mentioned as a possible cause of climate change? Surely it must be a significant factor.
It crossed my mind the other day when i was watching the heat rise off another car's bonet.
It's been looked at. Averaged over the the globe it's ~1% of the energy flux due to change in greenhouse gas forcing. Relatively recent paper; http://data.engin.umich.edu/faculty/flanner/conten...It crossed my mind the other day when i was watching the heat rise off another car's bonet.

Awesome.I assume Bloomberg can't afford any data for the last 10 or 15 years (depending on the Graph).
Still, at least they give Gavin a credit for the piece.
I think it is important to know that Gavin is a party to the presentation. Politically speaking.

apparently leaving out all the data for the last ten years is all the rage. seems to work in michael mann,s current presentations to the gullible.I assume Bloomberg can't afford any data for the last 10 or 15 years (depending on the Graph).
