Garage/workshop compressor ?.

Having just read and old thread on this subject and now being in the market for a compressor I wondered if anyone had a heads up on any bargains on the subject,
I'm looking for something in the 50L 2/3hp range for general garage use.

If its a cash and carry style one. For circa 90 quid, then you cant go far wrong.

50L is plenty, dont go for 20L it won't be enough, if you're only using tools and not spraying it will give you enough of a resevoir that you can losen, cut and hammer anything without running low on pressure.

I would be using it mainly for off road motorcycle tyres and just general workshop stuff,
would this type be powerful enough to pop a new tyre onto it's rim ?, the reason for the new one is my current one no longer holds enough pressure, although it is over 25years old, leaks, shakes and is so loud it can waken half the street.

I would have thought so, you can seat tubed beads with a foot pump. I've seated tubeless supermoto tyres with the cig lighter pump from my Civic.

Just an update,
Picked up a minter on Gumtree, Sip 6258 Airmate TN3/50 SRB 50L 3HP.
Only a few months old came with over £100 worth of extras, and just up the road.

I suspect you may be able to get petrol/diesel driven compressors - worth a google.

Rather than start a new thread.... I am after a compressor. I want in the short term to use it for 'needle gunning' some stone cills. I have borrowed the needle gun and want to buy a compressor. I might then use it for general workshop stuff eg wheel nut removal, possibly some spraying etc... So a decent DIY one. I dont know a thing about them eg capacity, oil free, phase etc... Any ideas?

Whereabouts are you OP? I'm in Hastings, East Sussex and wanting to sell my SIP compressor and accessories that was only used to spray a few panels on my Mini. Now redundant and taking up space in the garage. I think it's 50L but can get specifications if you're local and interested.
