Any help gratefully received.

Recently taken possession of an 04 plate 9-5 Aero which I intend to retail. Car runs smoothly without fault but the management light came on today. Mechanic has cleared codes but did say that it has been on for some 400 miles previously.

Codes P1312 and P1334, plus P0340.

A quick scan of the internet shows P1312 & P1334 means replacement of the Direct Ignition Cassette, and P0340 a cam position sensor, the latter being no biggy.

A further quick scan on eaby shows the ignition cassette to be pretty costly. Can these be reconditioned at all or is replacement the only way? The car as covered a mere 48,000 and as already mentioned runs very well indeed.

Thank you gents.

coil packs are a common problem on saabs, make sure that the right plugs are fitted, the wrong type WILL damage the coil pack.

Had the DI cassette code come up late last year. £300 for a new one. Offered a SAAB approved recon for £100 or thereabouts. Independent dealer. Went for new.

Edit. I found out it would last a year or a day. How long was a bit of string question.......
