Hydraulic Car Ramps
Discussion
Yep. The locking mechanism in just a bar which flips down to prevent the hydraulic ram compressing past a certain point. They actually open a fair bit -- maybe 6" or so in height -- past the level the safety lock allows.
Must be nearly a year since I bought them, so someone asked for a review.
Use is intermittent, so I can't say how they'd stand up to daily use. But so far they've been completely reliable and have never needed any maintenance (not even an initial bleeding).
Obviously they're not as useful as a post type lift, although they're a quick way of getting (at least) the rear of a car onto axle stands if you need to remove the wheels.
They're still too high to allow some cars (like my MR2) to drive straight onto them forwards. (Need planks, or an initial jacking to allow them to be slip under.)
They're heavy (and low) enough not to need anything to stop them skating away from the car. Ordinary ramps scare me -- I once drove a car clean over a set!
Overall, a useful buy.
My neighbours want to install a 2 post lift in my garage (to save space), so I'll have free use of it. This may (we'll see) mean my hydraulic ones come up for sale.

I have a pair from cj autos. Work really well. Even in my Tvr which is low.
Pain having to get them out when needed but that will change when I move.
The seals on mine went in one ram but they sent me new ones free of charge which I replaced and are leak free. Done both sides as a precaution.

I have the CJ Autos version which don't need the cumbersome extra long bits that are used in the other style the OP mentions.Pain having to get them out when needed but that will change when I move.

I have had some issues with the valves on the ramps and Colin at CJ wasn't completely helpful. I ended up having to sort the issue myself by trial and error.
Hi, hope you guys can help? I have the same problems with my ramps - one will not lift when both connected to the hydraulic foot pump, however if I swap the lines over the other ramp lifts therefore pretty sure it's the right hand side of the pump not the ramps.
Others have mentioned replacement seals (but that sounds like it's for the Rams) and valve troubles has also been mentioned? Can I ask for any information on your fixes and where you get spare for the pump from?
Don't want to buy a new pump from CJ autos if I can rebuild the current pump.
Thanks in advance

If you mean the part on the front face of the valve block (that you screw the hydraulic pipes too) - I have already tried swapping them over and it made no difference.
Any hydraulic experts on here can identify the components of the valve block - particularly the safety valve that is set at the factory?
One final question, anybody know who makes these hand pumps?

Sorry for the thread revival but i really fancy a pair of the hydraulic ramps after owning several supposedly decent jacks.
The Czech site doesn't list them anymore and as mentioned the CJ Autos price is a joke,
Is there anywhere else to buy these ramps?
Don't buy from CJ or the same type. Mine are still troublesome and were totally pissing me off only yesterday. The Czech site doesn't list them anymore and as mentioned the CJ Autos price is a joke,

I have a very lightly used pair I don’t need any more (now have use of my in-laws 4 poster lift). The Czech site doesn't list them anymore and as mentioned the CJ Autos price is a joke,
Is there anywhere else to buy these ramps?
Message me if they’d be of interest.
