And so the search for the ultimate way to spend a grand or less continues.

Let's kick off again with a leftfield choice... "it's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks"

Viewed (well ish) this car. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2000-MERCEDES-CLK-320-EL... .

Can I test drive it? No, I would have to move the other cars (1 in front of it). Could I take it for a short drive if I were to win the auction? No, that's not what an auction is all about mate.

I feel for anyone buying a £30k car off that lot hehe Amazing how a used car dealer can manage to be so arrogant.

Really need to stop faffing about with ebay. (BTW the rust is predictably way worse than the photos - don't think I'll look at any more Mercs because you would need to look at a thousand before find one acceptable car)

And yet that very auction invites you to come and view/test drive the car.

I'd take that. Good spot. Technically over budget of course!

535i. Reasonably leggy and not perfect; should stay within thread budget?

Rather than just criticise what V8mate has posted, I thought I'd better make more of a contribution. So how about this?

You mean it's not "the real thing"?

I had the tickets booked and everything.
