I'm really glad i took a picture on my phone (originally)of the caliper assembly before taking it apart, so i knew how they went on properly.
I'm not sure why i didn't look at the pic when i put them on the first time, i think it was because they went on so easily i didn't think i had done it wrong.
Lesson learnt!

No need to clean pads. There's also no need to take the caliper off to check pad thickness, nor do you need to measure the pad thickness. Just take the wheel off and do a visual check of the pads. Just trying to save you a bit of time!
