Scratching bolt and screws on reassembly

Does anyone have any tips on avoiding scratching bolt heads and torx heads on reassembling a piece? With my hand tools I always seem to inflict some sort of marking.

I'm still not sure how manufacturers avoid this when tightening some pretty hefty stuff? Anyone know? Most of the assembled bolts in my cars are immaculate until I touch them!

Basically it is about having exactly the right high quality tool for the purpose, and cleanliness.
