My aircon isnt working, the pump has an electrical connection right ate the front near the drive pulley, now could that be a feed to an electric clutch of some sort? or a sensor to tell the system the pumps running?

the plug and wires look very exposed

with this car electrics are always a problem so checking connections and feed would be a good start, if theres no feed and its 12v I could rig up a bypass feed (fused) maybe, bugger these hot days!

Mine had a broken wire on the plug that goes into the compressor, fixed that and all works great now so check the wires first.

Just for the benefit of others thinking about doing this, please don't unless you want a big explosion. The compressor is regulated and you will bypass this by giving it a feed. biggrin

so long as it had some pressure in there, and its not recently been re-gassed, it may be OK... they lose a bit of pressure over time. if there is a leak, they tend to lose all the pressure
