Golf v6 4 motion mk4 typhoon question

Hi all just brought a k&n typoon induction kit second hand no instructions and have found a site that shows how to fit but one part I don't understand is do you leave the crank case switch un pluged and just put the vent pipe on to the new k&n tube ?
