Hi all...I'm new to the forum because my stepson said to come here to ask a question about a problem we're having with our car.
Here it is!! Hopefully someone on here can help us.

We have a 1997 Mazda 626 LXi 2.0 and we've been having a problem with losing power we've had a full service done a diagnostics done and even a Mazda service center try and find the problem and they said it was the center pipe and back box of the exhaust we took those off and it still does it. Now he even took the catalytic converter off and put a straight pipe in and it still does it...Any suggestions what it may be now? We're stumped..and my husband is mad that the Mazda dealer said it was the exhaust and it wasn't. Please help!! Carey

You need to elaborate on the losing power bit, when does it occur, how does it occur,is it just slow or does it just cut out,is the car hot, cold etc.
And also is it a ge or gf mazda 6 ?.

Well when we first noticed it do it it was usually hot and usually lost power while going up hills...my husband calls it 'pulling' but it just jerks a lot and slows down and he can't accelerate at all...lately it does it all the time when it's hot or cold. I think it's a ge but not totally sure on that one. My stepson said it may be the automatic choke...thing is both garages have said there's nothing wrong with the engine.
