Hi all,

Two days ago I started my car engine and heard the clicking noise coming from the dashboard. It is very similar to the Indicator noise but slightly quicker. It goes away and comes back occasionally, especially when I give an indicator (either side) and when I hit a slight bump.
Everything else is working fine. All my indicators are working fine and no warning light on my dashboard.
Is it something serious? What is the fix?

Thanks

Dirt in the contacts of the indicator stalk. Spray some contact cleaner up the end, normally cures it.

Keys rattling against each other as you go over the bump/turn the corner.

Its defiantly not the keys. I am going to check the relay but I dont know where it is. The clicking has gone down but it come back after I use my indicator.

Could be a faulty relay.

Another vote for dodgy stalk. Had it several times although only in "unreliable" French cars not "bulletproof" VAG ones...

You can take it apart and clean it but I've never got a complete cure doing this and for the time and effort involved I'd just stick a new one in.
