compressor for dummies

I'm getting a compressor as I need one for sandblasting, painting, and all the other stuff that one can do with such a thing.
as I'm a dummy however, I'll need a little guidance.
Compressor I'm getting has a regulator built it. Of course I'll need an oil separator before the spray gun, will i also need another regulator before this too? And for other tools, drivers etc?
Filters?
How many hoses - maybe daft question.. but i guess you'll need a hose between reg- filter - maybe second reg- tool..?

Basically the bits of the car that I cant reach with other tools. I know I'll never get a professionals blasting power with home level gear.

If you want to blast anything more than very small parts you will need a big compressor. I have a 3hp/14cfm compressor and it doesn't have enough airflow to keep pace with a small blasting cabinet if it's used continuously.
