My rear offfside caliper is sticking on slightly when using the handbrake. Fine if the handbrake is left overnight and then not used. I had the wheel off a couple of weeks ago and generally blathered everything in WD40 and gave the handbrake actuator a good wiggle about and coated in spray on white grease, the cable itself is free btw.

Only lasted a couple of weeks and did it again last night.

I'm guessing that the handbrake actuator arm comes off with a nut on the end then it slides off the splined shaft but it's the splined shaft that's obviously crudded up inside.

Any tips for getting the caliper the thing free'd up properly without taking the entire caliper apart - in which case I might as well just bung a new one on. Or is it a case that once they get sticky like this then is recon or replacement time???

Oh, it's a MK3 Ford Galaxy BTW.

Cheers.
