I'll try that as I have large waste quantities of both. I'll be sure to wear latex gloves though as it sounds a nasty little brew up.

Along with the early runners of the borescope, hydraulic pullers and Gas soldering iron I would like to throw this mini ratchet set in From the US by a company called WFMC.

As the ratchet is one way and you turn it over to switch direction, it gets places standard frying pan shaped ones don't.

Not your standard 1/4 hex drive though. The ratchet is sprung against a splined shaft. Does come wwith screwdriver handle extension and thumb discs.
Best thing is that you can put the ratchet and the screw driver handle on at the same time for speed of inserting and then torque for the tightening without switching tools.
Metric and imperial hex bits too!

I recently bought a no-brand multi screwdriver affair in a cheap shop. It's nothing special but it screws together to look like a small rugby ball about the size of a lemon. You open it out and inside are 6 screwdriver bits and a ratcheting holder. I bought it for emergency car repairs, it's handy because you can't lose the bits. Only the other week I had to use it in anger, round a mate's place because he can never find a screwdriver when necessary. The rugby ball shape is nice to hold and gives you really good torque, it's a load better than it has any right to be. It must have been all of £2.

Did any of the boroscope purchasers have any luck getting it to work?

We've tried and are having trouble with the software.
Can't figure out how to download it. confused

Got mine working no bother, samsung s7e. The instructions came with a QR code to scan then it downloaded.

Yet to actually use it for anything useful but when I do it'll be invaluable.

Mine was supposed to work with Vista, it doesn't but does work with Windows 10.

A cheapo one a bit flimsy, poor image/focus, limited use.

I had trouble downloading and installing on my phone. My lad sorted it out, there was some download manager app installed by me which couldn't handle the boroscope software download trigger. He uninstalled my app and then the standard system handled it fine.

Mine is Android based.
Software downloaded into phone from a QR (Quick Response - one of those barcode squares) included in the box.
Can't recall now how much, but less than a tenner.
Coomes with two pickup 'antennae', and a magnetic antenna.
Chinese, of course.

First use - to see and read a part code on a Davies-Craig water pump, already fitted in the bowels of the engine bay, so I could quote it to D-C.
Worked perfectly. Clear view, easy to manipulate.

That could be the problem.
I don't have a phone so am a complete numpty when it comes to this so g/f is onto it.

She used the QR and it loaded the program but didn't indicate how to run it.

I will pass this info on and hopefully it will work.

Thanks for the replies all!
I'm very anxious to find out what the inside of my ear looks like. hehe

Did you buy the one in the OP's link (comes with a small CD with a panda on it)?

If so, ignore the 'CAMERA AN97' installation applications. There's a WINRAR file on the CD called 'ViewPlayCap'. Unzip/extract that. Works well, allowing you to save captures or videos as well as changed the res etc.

For my Galaxy S4 I installed a free app (from google playstore) called 'CameraFi'. With this installed the camera is plug and play.

Just purchased the borescope having stumbled across this thread. Works perfectly on my macbook with no requirement for drivers etc. Open up quicktime player and change camera to USB - bob's your uncle, fullscreen borescope viewing.

A bit better than I was expecting for £8 or so!

Do NOT look inside your ear!

This flexi driver that cost less than a fiver is great for the awkward hex screws on jubilee clips.

My fav tools without an engine or air power have to be my swenches.

I actually use them quite often. Mostly the 750 (3/4 inch drive) as the 1000 is pretty heavy to be swinging one handed.

Here with a 2l bottle of juice are my swench 750 and the 1000 model.

Sometimes when things won't shift these will shift them or destroy whatever is attached to them.

My apprentice has a set of these and I really don't like them but I guess I'm too used to mine with a single hinge.

Thanks... off the back of this thread, I've also bought a borescope and once it arrives I will use it to look inside the chassis legs of the car for rust.

Then... I will cry myself to sleep.

Still, on the bright side just ordered more welding gas, some 17mm, 19mm and 21mm alloy deep sockets with nylon protectors and a tap and die set.

All of the toys and none of the talent springs to mind.
