A pothole was hit the other day (not going to start blaming anyone...) and damaged the front tyre and wheel. The tyre has a massive bleb so is obviously no good - the car is on a spare set of wheels now. (oddly the rear shows no sign of any contact, not even a mark in the dirt on the rim)

However, measuring as best I can with a 1m steel rule and a couple of blocks on the rim, the front wheel is out of round by 1.5-2mm. It isn't dented as such, but as I say, out of round over a ~100/150mm section

I bought a car in the past with a more seriously dented wheel. I bought a new set of wheels in the end as I wasn't happy repairing that. But this seems more minor (and wheels would be more expensive this time).

What are peoples thoughts:
-- Can a 1.5mm out of round be repaired accurately?
-- Should I just buy a new wheel?
-- Would the level of deformation be a problem anyway, or would a new tyre pretty much mask it?

To close this off if anyone looks at this in future, I had a new tyre fitted and road force ballanced. All is well at all speeds tested - tiny out-of-round discrepancies are evidently not a problem at speeds attainable on the road.
