I think my DMF might be on it's way out out on my Ibiza Cupra 1.9 TDi.

I had an uprated clutch fitted which has now covered 30K miles, it works very well with no signs of slippage at all.

If my DMF is requiring to replacement, do I have to change my clutch also? It'd be a shame to ditch the current clutch considering it functions well and wasn't a cheap piece of kit either.

Any ideas...?

Thanks smile

You don't have to do anything

But if it was me I'd change it.

Check the clutch for wear and decide from there.

Labour to do the clutch later will likely be £400+.

Depends how long you plan on keeping the car.

A bit Irish I know but if you were changing the clutch why did you not change the DMF at the same time?

OK not super helpful Iknow.

I would change it... are you doing
it yourself?

It's just weighing up labour costs...

There is no real need to change the clutch too, but it's handy to do so because it's all apart.

Up to you to decide how much life there is left in the clutch and whether it's worth it

The Clutch is a cheap part. Even an uprated one. It would be stupid not to change it whilst you are there.

You could just change the clutch plate and not the cover and bearing

Sorry but if the transmission is coming out and you are unsure of the clutch change it all because it nearly certain that if you change 1 part only you will have problems with the ones not changed

The clutch has to be removed to get to the flywheel, so you get a new clutch for the cost of the clutch kit - and clutches aren't usually that pricey even if you buy OE. Having a special clutch does change things a little - if I were you I'd get one ordered so the garage have one to hand. Then they can check the condition of the old clutch and if the new one isn't needed they can send it back.
