I hydraulic locked my engine while turning it over on the starter motor. Pulled the plugs and one cylinder is full of fuel. It's an Audi S4 2.7t engine, the injectors are Bosch EV14 750cc. I bought them 2nd hand but they were unused so that rules out just sending it back for a replacement. Does anyone have any ideas on how to unstick it? So far i've seen a video on youtube that was a bloke putting 12v to it and hitting it with a hammer.

Take it to your local Bosch or fuel injector specialist.

If you want to hit it with a hammer feel free, I would rather spend £50 to £250 though & take it to someone who knows what to do rather than hit it with a feckin' hammer!

^ I agree. The next time it sticks it could be the end of your engine.

I took it out and give it a love tap with the hammer and it's fine now. I did see that suggestion on an injector refurbishing website so it must be quite a common problem with new/refurbished injectors that have been sitting for a while. Better solution than sending it to a refurb company and paying them £50-£250 to hit it with a hammer on my behalf. I've learnt a lesson, next time i'll test them before fitting, only need to connect a 9v battery to check they click.

They most certainly do NOT hit it with a hammer, good luck!

What i (and many many other mechanics) do with a stuck injector is tap it with the handle of a screw driver, in fact it's what they do at the shop when they recon a set, they put them on the test rig and if one wont kick in it gets a tap with a plastic screwdriver handle, i watched my local rebuild shop do this very thing last week while i waited for my set to be refurbed.
If tapping does not free it off then it really needs sending off to be looked at wink
