SLK320 - Front Wheel Hub Threading?
Discussion
Hi all,
Noticed the wheel bearing making one hell of a noise last weekend on my crossfire. It uses SLK320 mechs. Managed to get the hub off, bearings out and grease out, the races are still in. Looking at the hub, theres threading inside - lots of smaller threading with a large thread where the bearing sits nearer the inside of the car.
Are the hubs supposed to be completely clear of all threads, or is there supposed to be one? I dont want to replace the hub to find out the bearing was the only issue and the hub good, or equally replace the bearings to find they go early due to a dodgy hub!
Also - why do we replace the races if they are in a good position, and do not anchor down the bearing?
Thanks!
