I'm looking for a back-street or retired guy type machine shop that could fly-cut the deck-face of a cylinder block for a Honda GX160 kart engine on a bridge-port milling machine?.....I know plenty of professional machine shops, buy they are all quoting stupid prices and 6 weeks lead times......I'm based in essex, am sure there must be an old-school machinist who could help me out in the essex area, my number is 07867 395634.

Just to clarify the cylinder axis is about 65 degrees off the vertical, so you will need an accurate adjustable angle plate to do the job properly.....the deck face needs to be absolutely true to the bed of the mill, and then it needs about 0.1-0.3mm removing in order to increase the compression ratio to the max limit allowed by the regs.
