I've got a basic 2 tonne trolley jack from Lidl and am looking for a jacking pad/saddle/sill adapter for it. I know these little jacks aren't the last word in safety (be it Draper, Halfords or Lidl) but it's just to enable me to swap to winter wheels when the time comes so it won't be getting much use.

What I'm after is a rubber jack pad for the sills but from what I've seen, these are for the bigger more standard sized jacks, whereas mine just has the small lifting point/cup. Does anyone know where I can get a smaller rubber jack pad with the slit? Or has anyone bought one they would/wouldn't recommend?

I bought a hockey puk type thing it seems to work fine on my jack.

Me too, something similar to this but not from this seller. Think it was actually a machined hockey puck.

If it's for a single job, done twice a year, swapping summer/winter wheels, a piece of wood between jack and car will do nicely.
At least an inch thick or better, I'd say, to spread the load.

I think the problem is that this is too big for one of these mini jacks. The lifting cup is a pretty small thing.

As for the piece of wood, I want to jack it up on the sill, so would need something grooved.

The Ebay item shown looks just the job. At just £3 I might buy one for myself.

63mm dia. isn't exactly huge. You could always cut it down to suit your own jack if necessary, or just cut a groove in a piece of wood.

Your posts appear to indicate a lack of practicality on your part. Are you sure you should be changing your own wheels?

Don't have the time to be whittling pieces of wood. Just want to buy the right part for the job. I'll probably just get the ebay thing and trim it down if need be.

Has your car no jacking points? Look in the owner's manual.

nono Don't ever jack off the sill unless you really really really have to, i.e. stuck at the side of the road with a finger-snapper scissor jack, otherwise you'll just end up with sills that look like these!

get an old tyre (speak to any garage, they will happily let you have one!)

drill a piece that fits inside the cup with a holesaw
drill a piece that is slightly bigger than the cup with a holesaw
bolt the two pieces together with a suitable bolt & washers, tighten so the bolt pulls into the rubber and sits flush with the edges
cut off any excess bolt so the pad doesn't sit on the bolt

JACK OF SUBFRAME MOUNTS or SIMILAR like this;

DO NOT GO UNDER A VEHICLE SUPPORTED ONLY BY A JACK, THEY CAN AND DO FAIL SUDDENLY!!!

HTH!
