It's quite noisey, but you only need it on for about 10-15mins and the place is toasty!
Any problems with moisture?https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/little-devil-propa...

It's just another "Tax con". They say waste oil heaters are environmentally unfriendly so they need a licence?
Apply for a licence, pay the fee then its OK to use them.
May be not? I`ve been checking up and came across this, http://garagewire.co.uk/news/garages-face-dilemma-...Apply for a licence, pay the fee then its OK to use them.
Looks as if I retired at the right time.We used a waste oil burner, similar to the one shown in this article, for 22 yrs.No need of a licence then.Looks as if most garages will be forced to scrap their heaters now.
I understand all this and have to go along with it.Trouble is garages will now have to store waste oil, probably have to get a licence to store hazardous waste? A large tanker will regularly remove the waste oil, another licence would be required? then it would have to be disposed of or recycled, another licence?
P.S. You always needed to have a licence to use one, it's just that many didn't know or bother. Those that weren't on the register then won't be now so could carry on (illegally) using them whereas those that did it legally are now either very cold or have huge heating bills.
I don't know what the outcome would be if you were caught using one, but the chances are as slim as being fined for lane hogging apparently.

I never even knew it was an issue with propane heaters until I read this!
Burning any hydrocarbon generates water, that's where the "hydro" bit goes. A 35000 BTU propane heater will put out roughly 1.5 litres of water per hour. Obviously whether that's an issue or not will depend on how much you use it and how well ventilated your garage is.

I've got a propane space heater mated up to a static caravan spec gas bottle and whilst noisy, it does heat up the garage very quickly. However, I'm pissing in the wind as the garage is the standard issue 1970's semi-build effort with concrete slab walls and nasty flat roof so isn't insulated that great.
I have an issue with moisture before it even gets fired up... I suspect the fact the sun (even though weak) is on it all day combined with sub zero evening temps is the issue. It's worse if the car gets put away hot. Haven't found a solution as yet, aside for letting it air during the day and I suspect the space heater is just going to add to this.
I did debate sheeting the roof, ie plasterboard on to the exposed beams overhead but I;m not sure it'll fix the problem. Short term solution is a hat, gloves and several layers and a couple of MTFU pills!

when i built my garage / extension i teed off the central heating and fitted two kickspace heaters under the work bench so when its cold and we have the heating on the garage gets heated with warm air being blown across the floor, i can also isolate it if I'm not planning to use it,
this was taken a while ago now but you can see the heaters in the plinth
