What's the story line?

I would google but I'd need to enable safe search otherwise I'll end up distracted.

James Keziah Delaney returns to 1814 London after 10 years in Africa to discover that he has been left a mysterious legacy by his father. Driven to wage war on those who have wronged him, Delaney finds himself in a face-off against the East India Company, whilst playing a dangerous game between two warring nations, Britain and America.

Story by Tom Hardy, his dad and the writer behind Peaky Blinders. Sounds promising.

Oddly, both my Mother and my lad's rugby academy coach are in this, so we'll be watching it as they've both been talking about quite a lot over the last few months

So far seems to be good work for ex-Game of Thrones actors.

Very board of historical drama's now. Can't some production company produce an up to date drama and get it on terrestrial tv.

Yep, enjoyed that, could be quite good by the looks if it so far.

Shame the dialogue seems to be afflicted as is common these days on BBC dramas, had to have the volume so loud in places to hear the voices that pots and pans rattling sounded like gunfire! smile

Promising start.

Tom doing what Tom does. Supported by a strong cast.

Really enjoyed this last night. The BBC must have upped their (post Top Gear) budget of late with this and Sherlock.

Very good start, this series could be immense when you consider who is behind it

I agree. I would have prefered 1970s / 1980s dramas like ashes to ashes and the BBC latched onto this with the massive populaty of it...But there you go they seem to think everyone likes dancing, singing and cooking crap.

BUT saying that I really enjoyed Taboo and am really looking forward to later episodes. The corseness of it was a real fresh change from Jane Austen dribble.

Amazed that the N word wasn't picked up and had millions of Twitter complaints as seems to be the 21st centery way of things.

I watched it this afternoon, really enjoyed the darkness and grit.

Seems well produced and shot, looking forward to the rest.

What a refreshing change from the usual Saturday night dross.
Dickens with attitude.
