Tool suggestions for home spannering

I got a set of 3 plastic funnels and a baster from a £1 shop. Very useful, especially with a bit of hosepipe clipped onto the end.
Obviously avoid everything else diy related in those sort of shops.
I tend to fill my shelf with copper grease, white grease, brake cleaner, silicone grease etc when ecp do a 30% offer. Once bought, they last ages.
I'm trying to think if there's any tools I bought in the last 15 years that just don't get used...
Often, drill accessory sets have loads of bits I don't need, so buying a few sizes from screwfix and sticking them in a tin would have been better.
I did recently get a set of pry bars, which are very useful.
But I think whilst a lot of specific tools can make the job a bit easier, many jobs are doable with more basic ones.
One final thing: I always found a heavy rubber mallet was good for loosening bolts (when holding a ring spanner tight on a nut). Open spanners and unheld ring spanners will just round the nut.
