Hi all,
Thinking of using Autosol on my exhaust tips to make them silver again. Has anyone done this before? Is the stuff heat resistant? And is it just a case of applying it using a damp cloth?
Appreciate all tips and advice.
Many thanks smile

Autosol is a polish. You don't apply it as such, rather use it as a very fine abrasive to remove the crud that's on there.

I use very fine steel wool.

Autosol is just a good all round metal cleaner/polish, heat resistant? Not sure why you ask, you rub it on and you polish off, there should not be any residual remaining, hence no need to be heat resistant.

I've used it for years cleaning various metals and some plastics, the harder the material the harder you need to rub to get the desired results. smile

Do what it says on the tube "rub it on, polish it off.

If you're working on stainless steel exhaust pipes you can use steel wool (0000) to accelerate the cleaning action and cut down on the amount of effort required. Then when clean just polish off this a dry cloth.
