Is spending 57quid on 5L of oil worth it?

Have you looked on Euro car parts?
ive just got 5l litres of shelf heilx an air and oil filter £30 delivered same day.

The local factors was £48 and they didn't have the air filter in stock,

i tend to go with the cheapest brand name Ive heard of for most things in life.

if it was just the oil it was £17 on ebay for shell from carparts4less

Lots of conflicting advice/evidence about using aftermarket oils in quite a rare gearbox with basically no spare parts available to rebuild.

OEM oil sold by the litre is the only oil that is universally agreed on.

£114 for a very infrequent oil change is buttons compared with the fear of a several thousand pound rebuild.

In effect 2 litres of unicorn piss to protect my gearbox made from unobtanium, vibranium and adamantium.

Would you gamble using horse piss if the internet told you "I've ran it for xxxx miles and seems fine"?
