Halfords pro stuff when its on sale.

The wobble joints and pozi drive sockets are chocolate, but at least you can take them back and swap them for new.

Find someone with a Halfords Trade Card, the tools are then pretty much permanently at the "regular offer" price.
Even if you cant manage to wangle a trade card, you can get a 15% off discount card by joining the Ford Owners club for £15 (no point renewing, the card is still valid)

I can tell you the old kent road branch of Halfords is the only one showing stocks of the black advanced set for the £150 price before any discounts. That was from halfords customer service yesterday

Is a bloody awesome deal.

6 point sockets. Whether the quality is as good as my old one, I'm not sure. But it's an awesome price.

You don't have to be be in a motor trade to get a Halfords Tarde card.
See: http://www.halfords.com/advice/customer-services/t... "Who is eligible to apply for Halfords Trade Card?"
Several other trades eligable.

That does look decent, none of the usual unwanted gubbins.

I'm in for the 3/8 set, picking up tomorrow.

I'm planning on building my set as I go along with this set a starter.
I already have a halfords trolley jack, axle stands and 1/2" breaker bar with a few sockets so I'm good to go.

I did the drop links on my car the other week....easy but still very proud of myself!

Best way to it, now strong are the trays? Or they just packaging?

Not sure to be honest, I think the modular kits are designed to fit straight in a tool chest drawer. I'm gonna pick one up on the way home so will update.

I'm now thinking of the 1/2" drive kit though as the first job I'm going to be doing is trying to fix some binding brakes and I think I'll need the extra leverage the 1/2" set will give me.

I use 3/8 for most stuff up to around 13mm. 1/2 for tight stuff, suspension, brakes, wheels, etc.

Not sure if the 3/8" stuff is 6 point or not. My old 3/8" Halfords set is 12 point (as is my old 1/2" set).

The trays aren't super strong but strong enough I think. They are designed to be chucked in a tool chest.

Yep, but the set I've received is 6 point. Maybe they've changed? (1/2").

I just picked my 1/2 set today and they are also 6 point, the image on the website shows 12 point though so it was a nice surprise.

Really impressed with the quality though, feels great in hand.

Decided on the 3/8 set as well for the spark plug sockets, I can confirm this set also contains 6 point sockets rather than the 12 shown on the website.
