Harness for caterham
Discussion
Now then, having given my car a bit of a once over I've noticed the crutch straps have rubbed a little on the edge of the seat hole. Since they went out of date in 2007 and I've just bought a Simpson hybrid I'm thinking perhaps I should get a new one. What are people using? the caterham specific ones only seem to be four point which are no good as the cars used extensively on track. Will a single seater harness fit? I don't think I need the 2 inch to3 inch hans shoulder strap type with my Simpson.
Any suggestions?

Just be careful how the adjustability is made... Some Caterham specific harnesses, on the lower harness, are pull down instead of the Caterham branded Luke's that pull up, making the latter easier to adjust.
Thats a good point my current willans one is a pull down, it's right faffI bought some Titon harnesses from Meteor. Bought the 6 point but I've only got 4 attached at the moment.
My previous car had the standard pull-up waist straps when I bought it which I found quite awkward due to the seat position. I intentionally had these as the pull down reverse bucke type. I can't say they're perfect but I think they're a little bit better than the other type (but still a little awkward!).
Quality is top notch and I'd happily buy Titon harnesses again.

Get the ball crushers (crotch straps) fitted, and use them!My previous car had the standard pull-up waist straps when I bought it which I found quite awkward due to the seat position. The risk of submarining under the lap belts is fairly high with a decent shunt. If you set them so that they aren't overly snug in the normal belted up position, you won't notice them in normal use.

I was going to, but I couldn't find anything to attach them to!The risk of submarining under the lap belts is fairly high with a decent shunt. If you set them so that they aren't overly snug in the normal belted up position, you won't notice them in normal use.
On my 7 the crotch straps attach to the lower rear seatbelt mounts, as well as the lap belts...
I also have Titon belts, and very good they are - I ordered direct from the manufacturer - www.primamotorsport.com

I now have a HANNS/Hybrid set of belts available that I worked with Prima - Titon to develop.
I have already sold many many sets as they have the 2" shoulder straps stepping up to 3" at the buckle.
They are less than half the cost of the Simpson or Schroth versions.
I won't link to my site as I think its against the rules.

Thanks for the post Simon I'll be in touch. I nearly passed out when I saw how much the Schroth belts areI have already sold many many sets as they have the 2" shoulder straps stepping up to 3" at the buckle.

Finally got them fitted yesterday... they certainly live up to their name! They do make the placement of the buckle much better though and stop it riding up due to the shoulder straps. The risk of submarining under the lap belts is fairly high with a decent shunt. I bolted them to the two chassis rails at the back.
Annoyingly, while doing the passenger side, one of the captive bolts on the seat runners came loose. Seems ok for now, but I'll have to get that sorted.

Got my Schroth harnesses from Germany as they worked out cheaper. Not sure how the exchange rate is these days.
