Find the landline subscription which includes free calls to Mobiles and then put call forwarding on?

Is the specific landline number precious to you? If so port the landline to a cloud service and then "point" the virtual landline at the mobile

BT has call redirect as one of its paid for extras. When you have it you dial a code, the number of the mobile and some more code. Then when you are on the premises you dial another code and cancel it. Naturally you will program the codes into your landline handset. Whether it's the best value service or not is another question.

I currently have the clunky and expensive BT option under *21* divert number # and #21# to cancel.

It works OK but is expensive.

I have a number I want to keep and plan to port it to a cloud provider which will mean I can keep it wherever I move to.

Don't want to be stuck if I want to port it again though. Any recommendations for a good provider I can port from at at later date?

If you are not worried about the current number, just that there is a landline, you can also use something like http://www.live.sipgate.co.uk and load a VoIP application on your mobile.

Thanks for that. My BT contract expires at the start of May so I may well get back to you next month.
