I appreciate this is a really odd request and will undoubtedly attract they usual PH trolls with saracastic offers of help, but I’ll give it a shot anyway... smile

I’ve always been conscious that I have a terrible signature. That's not to say it’s not “secure” as it’s certainly unique, but it really does look rubbish and now I’m signing more and more items at work and I’d like to improve it. It should be noted I’m not a creative or arty person, but do have terrible handwriting and however I try to redesign it, it comes out equally as badly.

Where would someone go for help on this? There must be some niche company that offers help in that area.

Agree with the response above. It's rather quaint still signing bits of paper with a biro!

How about reviewing processes, going digital and expanding powers of delegation? Eliminate the waste that is a human and a biro.

Good luck!

I opened a bank account in 2009 or so when I was 20. Stopped using it and then a year or so back went in to the branch to take the last few quid out and close it. I had to sign a slip and apparently my signature didn't match what it was years ago, and I had to show photo ID to prove my identity.

This happened to me. I went years barely signing anything. One employer paid business expenses in cash so I rarely went to a bank to write a cheque for cash (pre-ATMs) then my next workplace was above a Barclays that was trialing new chip and pin cards so again never signed anything in the bank. One day went into my local branch to cash a cheque and it was rejected. I simply could not repeat my already messy signature due to lack of practice.

As part of my job I deal with finance paperwork, try getting someone to sign some finance paperwork with the same signature as the one on their 30 year old paper driving licence, absolute bloody nightmare.

I used to have some dealings with a company which was family-owned and run, and massively paper based. Their financial controller had to 'sign' near enough everything as one of their control mechanisms...

He gave up, and bought an ink pad and a rather intricate customised stamp. He'd write the date and then stamp over the top of it, and was extremely careful not to leave the stamp lying around.
