Im popping over to a friends house tomorrow to see if I can adjust their composite door that they say is very difficult to open/close. Once closed, i locks fine. Im not sure until I get there if it needs adjusting vertically, horizontally, or compression adjustment.

In the photos below, I reckon I will need to do the following to each hinge....

Pop off the top cap
Open the door to reveal the grub screw
loosen the grub/retaining screw
Use a socket spanner/allen key to adjust the bolt in the hinge from above.
Retighten grub screw

Does this sound about right, or do I need to adjust the two allen key bolts instead?

Pretty sure it's the allen bolts. One for in/out & one for up/down.

Don't shout at me if I'm wrong thoughlaugh

I'd guess the hinge pins are concentric, pop the plastic caps off and twist them with an Allen key, might need to slacken the grub screws first.

Great word.

Thats what I was thinking but didn't know what the word was.

Anyone know if those two allen key bolts adjust the door?

The 2 Allen bolts in the picture pull the leaf in tighter to the rubber of the frame
With the door shut Pull the top plastic cover off this one will move the door left to right in the frame
the one underneath the bottom plastic cover will lift the door up and down
Hope that makes sense

It is a good word, but exactly the opposite of what was meant! I think you were after eccentric wink

Yes, I think you're correct, I'm not as smart as I like to think!
