Hi.
I have a 2002 1.9 tdi golf 150 bhp pd.
Please could u leave this in general gassing so I have some hope of finding some good advice .
I have an issue which I believe in my optimism could be relatively simple with correct knowledge of these cars as they are quite old and understood now by many , unfortunately not by me in this instance.
My issue is on releasing the brake pedal there is a hiss noise which sounds like air escaping the breaks work fine .
All information oline is about constant hissing which stops when brake is pressed and brake pedals going hard .
The car does neither , only a hiss which occurs as the pedal returns to it's natural position which sounds like air escaping. The opposite of brake hissing related noises the internet is adorned with.
The vehicle is also down on power , turbo is not boosting .
It appears to have no obvious vacuum.leaks and from hours of reading things like ,servo brake booster hiss constantly when failing brake pedals go hard etc .
I just have no turbo and a hiss as the pedal returns to its natural position after braking
.
So I'm at a loss .. if anyone has any knowledge of this issue a hiss on releasing pedal and could explain if it could be linked to lack of turbo boost and vehicle running with reduced power .

OP, you asked if anyone had any experience of the symptoms you describe, ever bothered to think that possibly no-one has ,or if they have , do you think that your entitled, sarcastic attitude will encourage them to share their knowledge?
There are some very knowledgeable posters on here and starting off posting with your type of attitude is IMO not the best way to go about getting them to help you (voluntarily,not for money let's not forget ) with the diagnosis of your problem.
