Which plasma cutter?
Discussion
Looking for recommendations for a plasma cutter up to around the £500 mark (but don't mind if it's cheaper!).
Initially needs to cut around 5-6mm steel but versatility and the ability to cut thicker stuff with a decent duty cycle would be good. Air supply not an issue.
The R-Tech P30 seems to be well thought of but not currently available until next month for some reason.

Hope you have a good compressor as they are air hungry devices, the cheapest rtech one needs 100 litres per minute at 50psi.
My 25A plasma cutter overheated the power/pressure control switch on a 3HP 150 litre compressor.
You must be doing a lot of constant cutting though to do that, normally the compressor gets chance to catch up in between cuts.My 25A plasma cutter overheated the power/pressure control switch on a 3HP 150 litre compressor.
I have the r-tech p30c. It’s fine. I might be doing it wrong, but so far I'd say my plasma cutter makes my angle grinder look like a precision tool.
That said, I'm inevitably doing it wrong - the tool is good.
R-Tech also are excellent - I have found their customer service really really good.

I have an R-Tech P30. It's fantastic.
I will echo the comment above that unless you put a lot of time and practice in, it isn't the cleanest way to cut. I've seen the likes of Urchfab on YouTube do razor-sharp cuts with one, though, so it's definitely my ability rather than the tool at fault (story of my life ). Still, a quick once over with the Dremel and it's all good.
