Hi all, hope everyone is well

Im quite inexperience with the mechanical side of cars so looking for help diagnosing my oil leak that I’ve discovered in my 2013 Audi A3 1.4 tfsi sportback.

After talking to a friend he suggested it may be coming from the timing belt cover and from what from what I looked up online the plastic inside of is can wear and cause oil leaks. The seems to be oil in the top part of my engine and also down the front part of the timing belt. What do you guys think?

I’m really interested in learning more about my engine and self servicing where I can so If this is the case is this something a novice home mechanic can fix?

I think that may just be oil spillage from topping up. Fill cap is next to the mess.

Struggling to see a leak, as such. As the previous poster said, just looks like someone wasn't using a funnel when topping up the oil. If there's no oil drips on the ground then you're OK
