Morning all,

I just wanted to show my appreciation to this fantastic thread.

I am currently in the process of flat-planning both the 2014 Heavy Transport Association Yearbook and the very first Issue of the dedicated industry title, HeavyTorque.

Therefore, i would like to ask whether the users of this thread would be interested in supplying some of there own photography for inclusion within the aforementioned? Please note only images taken in 2014 will be relevant.

We look forward to your feedback.

I dread to think what the ground pressure of that setup is!!
Those wheels are amazing and look quite contemporary!

One would assume it's to facilitate the crossing of the bridge safely. Looks like part of a Hydro plant

I wouldn't want to be near the drive chain if it snapped either!

Why do I think it's a Scammell?
Just had a shufty through the comments, and indeed it is apparently:

"KD 9168, Edward Box's 100-tonner Scammell with a Beyer Peacock loco, passing through Warrington after loading at Gorton, Manchester en-route to Liverpool docks."

Apparently the truck and the train still survive
KD9168 is in the Commercial vehicle museum at Leyland.
It is one of two 100 ton Scammells - the other of which still survives too

Rumour has it that a 747 (or part of it anyway) will be transported up the M5 corridor on Saturday morning... I'm trying to get more details but does anyone here know about it already?

Some photo's of the haulage used to move a tunnel boring machine from one of my places of work, and the crane used to lift it.

This has to be LPT? Looks like hackney substation? She's called Cleopatra if anyone is interested. She finished her drive middle of last year for the 4m tunnels. The 3m TBM (Evelyn) will break through very soon.

Very interesting project, lots of specialised equipment. I cycled through the tunnels the other day.

Who do you work for? I believe I can see Jimmy Sig in one of the photos.
