Thought it would have been more than that.

I guess that when they all get up to speed they just set the cruise control to whatever they are doing, maneuvering around slow corners must be the tricky bit. They must need the power of all the tractors to be doing it, so its not like the lead ones can drag them about in places without them pushing from behind.

I was half expecting them to have fly by wire all linked to the lead vehicle, but that would be too easy hehe

Have had the pleasure of seeing Collett at work delivering more massive turbine parts to the new wind farm up at Graveley, a few miles east of here, over the past two days -

some of the stuff that a.l.e move is just bonkers.
a few years back they moved a load, (from tilbury i think) rount the m25, think it was going watford way.
i seem to remember it all being done at night, as it was so huge, and taking 3 night to move it.
the planning involved must be immense.

Those ALE tractors, how are they controlled when they are linked up like in the last set of pictures? Each one have a driver and they just feel how much throttle they need to be using, must be more technical than that?
I believe they can all be linked together.

Spotted this set of tracks on a low loader

Thought is must be from a tank but further down the road I came across this

Looks like some kind of crane.

How much does a crane like that cost to hire, and how come it was just hanging around available to come to London at such short notice? Guess they are not used much?
