I've seen the old sea cat around the back of 4 berth, it's still up for sale iirc. Almost everything seems to end up sat at Tilbury at some point in it's life.

Have one of the o2 arena from an industrial estate on the iod

And one to remind you all of whats going to happen soon

winter is coming unfortunately.
tilbury does seem to end up as abit of a dumping ground.

I always chuckle at the utter crap cars, vans and trucks headed for Africa, piled one

on another and another.

I was in there last week but didn't collect from 4 berth as expected so didn't get to see

the rows of poo lined up there.

Tilbury are quite strict on what they let through, cant be over the vehicles gvw and must be able to stop, start and drive, cant have things bunged in there that get in the way of the driving seat, all tyres must be inflated ect.

Have a look at what goes on at Harwich or Sheerness, whenever we knew that something would get rejected at Tilbury it would normally go to one of those 2 instead, they had the same rules but they used to always turn a blind eye.

I used to stop at the services on the A120 to jump start whatever was on the back, as they would refuse it if they saw you doing it at the docks, same with inflating tyres knowing that you only had an hour to get them through before they were flat. I took many 7.5t motors through Sheerness with over 15 tonne on them, swaying from side to side and struggling to get out of 1st gear. They had a height marker at Harwich that was a bar you drove under to get onto the weighbridge, I hit it so many times that I wasnt allowed on it if I didnt have a banksman and was on first name terms with the fitters up there because so many things would die either on the weighbridge or in the queue hehe

i have missed going abroad this year, although i'm prob going back to the touring work soon.

ha,ha, yep used to see some right loads going into tilbury for export, piled high, and all loaded to the max.
i thought it had been quieter down there of late, that explains it if tilbury have got strict. there did seem to be a big purge a while back by vosa and the like, i guess this explains the move to sheerness then smile

i used to drop the odd container off into the grimaldi terminal for export to africa.
always amazed me that everything that went over the weighbridge, had to be payed as a "cash" transaction smile

hehe I think that he has a plan of world domination, hes randomly covering parts of the docks, at some point every square foot of land in essex will have an old lorry parked on it smile

Was in Purfleet picking up a fridge today and went round the top of row A. All around were old lorries with other lorries, cars, engines, etc piled on top.

Are these heading for Africa too?

CDMR? Been ages since I've been in there, but dont know of anyone doing stuff like that in there. It's a possibility but it would be a recent development and I thought that they were struggling for space there since they moved everything over from crossways end.

Are they still doing bricks from the start of the lanes? Took ages for them to blag that corner so that we could use the other exit gate there cool

Yes, CdMR. Not sure about bricks, I only drop on to containers when our other contract goes slack. Although I took an empty container back from our yard recently and was told to go to the 'brick yard' at the top of the site.

I see crossways, from the bridge, is being used again for new cars?

They were robbing bricks from the skip and walking several hundred yards up the road to load them in an estate car.The woman did more work than the guy did!

I saw a rather tidy E46 sat on the 5th wheel of a tractor unit at Tilbury a few years ago. Presumably retiring to warmer climes.
