When on the 2-lane, 20 mile long M26, do not pull out to overtake another lorry, and spend 8 miles doing so, you daft t  t. If you are traveling at 55.5 mph, and the vehicle you want to overtaken is travelling at 55.25mph, just BACK OFF A BIT. Also, if you are the lorry being overtaken, BACK OFF A BIT, and you will help to avoid an 8 mile tailback on the M26, and a great deal of horn blowing and general abuse from other road users, you cretinous t t. The content of your rant is spot on, and extra points for being aware that it is as much the fault of the lorry being overtaken as the overtaker.

so another truck driver bashing starts
you dont think that educating car drivers is a better way foward
that is why car drivers get up tight at a slight delay in their no time to loose journey
we dont generaly have the luxury of choosing our journey times or the tight schedule we have to run to because YOU want your goods in shops resturants ect on time give us a break and plan ahead

The same truck drivers also frequent the A34 - a 2 lane dual carriageway. Makes the M3/M25/M1 look like an attractive proposition even though it's a major detour

i am a lorry driver, and i can understand where you're coming from.
elephant racing is totally unprofessional.
if i'm being overtaken, then i ease off a bit.
if i want to overtake, then i check that i won't be holding anyone up.
it's simple really.
but some car drivers, usually in bmws come tear arseing down lane 2 at 100mph, they don't judge their speed against the slower moving vehicles. if they eased off to say 65mph, they wouldn't need to brake, they'd make it to the lorries just after he's pulled back in.
judgement, common sense, forward planning, and courtesy. it's not difficult.

Wow what an original topic. Inconsiderate people hold up others, some just happen to be driving trucks. What I fail to understand is car drivers without limiters choosing to overtake at +0.25mph. And yes, there are plenty of them. It's just that most drivers don't look far enough ahead so the only time it's obvious what's holding them up is when they can see the taller vehicle up front.

judgement, common sense, forward planning, and courtesy. it's not difficult. I used to do the 100mph pissed off thing but now I do the let off the fun peddle for a bit, cruise up behind, no braking and then push on when its clear and its soooooo much more relaxing.

I was stuck behind a lorry driving t t on the A1 elephant racing at 6.45pm today. Why the time? - because lorries were banned from the outside lane between 5 and 7PM. Where are the police when you want them.

Remember though, that that lorry-driving t t had spent his whole day being inconvenienced by car driving t ts, who outnumber him by more than 10:1.
