i'm getting there mate 
the 2 fractures are healing although taking a while. 1 is the entire right side of the skull :0
good news is ear is now back to normal, and 2 of the 3 internal bleeds now gone, so all heading in the right direction.
yeah did hear some mixed early reviews on the volvo. sure that merc will be nice

I wonder if test trucks go out to selected companies to run in real world situations.
We get transits from Fords , some in the past have been real beasts the current lot are under powered pieces of eco poo with lots of useless toys .
Worse still we have to fill out a report every time we use one .

ah yes, the volvo/renault link
okay from a drivetrain point if you get lumbered with a renault these days
grumpy, i also remember seeing the new volvo, (before it was released) out and about on the roads with a haulage company. it was pulling a bulk tipper and the tractor unit was disguised.
i wonder what the deal is also. free use of tractor unit maybe, whilst the manufacturer is getting all the data/info it needs of how their new baby is performing in the real world.
they've stuck with dafs again on the tour work. now getting the new shape ones, still bloody underpowered and no retarder but at least its a big cab, with a roof pod, and a fridge. helps abit with the long periods away.

shame about the pods aswell. we have them and they do come in handy as we are in black trucks, with black trailers and 90% of the time are sleeping during the daytime and travelling through the night. tbh, once the temp rises above 30 odd degrees they seem to only last about 4-5 hours but it certainly helps with getting to sleep
it has always amazed me, that for all these years we've had night heaters, no one has come up with a way of making the system cool the truck in the summer aswell as heating it in the winter.

i agree, overall length could do with looking at. sadly though i'm sure it will only ever benefit the transport firms in regard to extra length as they'll use it for more load space. i know those extra length, (15m i think) trailers are on trial with certain haulage firms at the moment. the firm i do the tours for has 3 of them, i've seen them. ok on motorway work, but not sure on other stuff.
i think it would be nice to have more space for the drivers on the trucks cab these days. doesn't have to be quite american cab sizes, but abit extra like those scania longlines would be a bonus.
not likely though i guess.
