The Govt sites also state what I have said

You only need to complete 1 set of training every 5 years if you drive both lorries and buses professionally.

Got my first course on Wednesday, although I don't drive much these days, I don't want to lose the entitlement. On the plus side, the venue's within walking distance of my house and it's next to the pub when I finish...

Well finished the course today, had a course all this week.
This was paid for by my employer, but, if I paid for it I would be a bit "Miffed", no way could the cost be justified.

I agree, on the whole its a mind numbing task and just another money making scheme for the powers that be.
i'm quite happy for a refresher course now and then so as to keep up with everything but paying for it out of my own pocket, and losing 5 days work in the process boils my piss slightly.
also, there is no actual exam or test to pass, and you can do exactly the same module 5 days running shows it for the joke that it actually is banghead

I did 2 fuel efficient driving modules among my five. It makes a mockery of it tbh, but as long as I get the card at the end of it...

Despite having got a digital tachometer card a couple of years ago, I was unaware about this. I only drive 7.5tonners very occasionally, but my grandad rights are a useful "qualification" (I subcontract on exhibition work). Obviously I can't do 35hours now before 1st September, but can I do it before I next drive a truck? Or do I lose my grandad rights forever at the stroke of midnight on August 31st?

Do 35 hours and you can drive commercially again for 5 years
