A few days camping in Scotland with my daughter.

Tent was £40 quid off eBay, s/h but unused. OK for finding out if camping is OK, which it was, so an upgrade is planned!

(Even a smiley in the pic hehe)
Is this at Invercoe?
Sure is, good spot! Had a great time - see here

Been there?

^^ Several times. Nice site, good facilities but just too far from the pub unfortunately.
We spend a lot of time in Glencoe.

First time I have been camping, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but needn't have worried! We had a great time, and will be going back to the same site next year.

I can relate to spending a lot of time in Glancoe - so much to see around there - pity it's so far for us! (And my distinct lack of a head for heights rules out some places, such as the Lost Valley)

Lost Valley is lovely, not high and you never get a big drop view.
The Buachaille Etive Mor is a bit more lofty and some of the ridges can be proper scary.

Did you try the Clachaig Inn?

If you are planning on going back I can recommend loads of things to see/do/try.
Also worth trying a quick car in the area!

I can imagine a decently quick car would be quite fun, as the roads are fantastic. Saw some lovely cars up there, obviously many think the same, and even the locals seem to press on. Not uncommon to be overtaken when I'm doing 65-70 myself on a NSL single carriageway!

It's not heights per se, but vertigo which is my main problem. Narrow paths with drops are not good, as I get very dizzy due to the movement difference between the ground I'm standing on and the drop. Ben Nevis was doable, but bits of the climb were interesting!

We didn't try the pubs, but my daughter will be a bit more grown up next year so I'm sure we will! Thanks for the info, much appreciated.

Amazing tent. We had some pretty strong winds in Wales and it didnt move. Completely different noise to our other tents as its heavy weight and the polycotton doesnt flap. Highly recommended.

Easy shelter for at least 15 under that awning, it's brilliant.

Nigel, I didn't know you were a fellow landy owner! Do you get out and about much? That 90 looks very lovely, not a dissimilar colour to mine.

Hi Katy, yes, had it a while now after we had a few Pajeros. It's done a few trips and we are off to France next weekend for 2 weeks, then Wales in November and over the New Year. Planning is underway for Romania and Greece in the summer too smile
Yours looks pretty nifty, want a 130 next funds allowing! You still at M ?

Nice work! We've taken the 130 to Iceland and Morocco and, with luck and a following wind, to the USA for 6 months or so next year. As to M - hopefully not for long. Redundancy looms but I'm not sorry. Place is far from what it used to be and it gives us the opportunity for this US trip which we've been longing for for years.

skip_1 - that's the exact same Quechua we have, they are really great. Since getting the motorhome, my OH wants to sell the tent off but I'm loathe to get rid of it as it is so good and potentially useful.

Use instead of an awning as a 'pup' tent?

We have just bought an Outwell Tennesee 5 for the 3 of us. I liked the huge amount of living space. Goes up and down quite easily and is great quality. Now I just need to change my car so I can get the folded tent, carpets and furniture (when I buy it) in the car with family. Also you can't get a roof rack for my car and I want to get back into Kayaking so the Peugeot has to go frown

Good excuse for an S4 estate smile
