Just bought a new camping setup - HiGear Zenobia 6, with porch. All ready for our trip to Scotland in a few weeks time. Trouble is, this year we will have a considerable amount of extra kit, so i have had to buy a new car as well - a Saab 9-5 Aero Estate.

Really looking forward to the whole expedition now, and my daughter and I will be re-creating the Bond scene from Skyfall, on the road to Glen Etive hehe

This is mine.
3rd attempt at motorhomes, after 2 big Hymers looked at this and it ticked all the boxes.
Complete with Oyster sat system which was money well spent as we can watch news etc and Coronation Streetrolleyes in France.

Merc Sprinter chassis 2.7 diesel auto with rear wheel drive which tugs along economically at 70mph ,smallish 25ft length inc towbar.

On board Onan genny, onboard water tanks and waste tanks.

But the best thing is the little slideout, only 2.5 feet but what a difference it makes, can sit on proper sofa in air conditioned luxury.

Love camping, but rarely find the time to get away. We're off to the TVR camping weekend on the IOW in a couple of weeks, and then to Weymouth for the Dorset Seafood Festival the weekend after, which should be fun.

Here's my tent:

An Outwell tent, good amount of space in the sleeping area and a huge living area space, useful for cooking etc. Got a nice big comfy Outwell airbed too. Well worth the money!

Even better when your friend has a van and brings his tent and a marquee!

Better still when the super estate car doubles as a clothes drier!

My old bus :

Which became a slightly larger outfit when we decided we wanted more space / comfort :

Which turned into this when I realised caravanning was too much like hard work & wasn't really for me :

Which is now up for sale due to lack of use :-( We use a Quechua Base Seconds XL as an awning :

Will be there next year again, always go away during Royal Ascot week as we hate the traffic. (Other half lives in Ascot)

New to caravanning.

I was worried I would hold people up.

What do fellow shed tuggers use to get fly splats off the front windows.

Regards

PS It's an Eldis Avante, same 2002 vintage as the Porsche Turbo
Cost me buttons, tows a dream on the back of the Merc.
Everything works. doesn't look embarrassing.
Great fun
My four year old loves it, only get her home promising we will be doing it again in a few weeks.

Nice try hehe

I use a motorbike bug off type stuff from Halfords on my bike which works well for flies.

Nice caravan. I see you tow it with a Merc; I thought when first seeing the pics that you were using the Porsche to tow it with, especially from your remark about not holding others up!

Ours. Got the Saab auto last December to replace our other manual Saab due to problems with my left ankle, and traded our Swift Classic Coronette in a few weeks ago for this lovely Eccles Sterling Topaz. The whole ensemble ticks all our boxes.
Pictured at the dealership on collection as we bought a CO meter on the way out.
