No engine, the kitchen's a bit basic, no bathroom to speak of and it's fairly cosy inside but here's my second Hilleberg tent of my trip (a Rogen) to replace the first one that was a bit too hot for warm weather and being a one man a bit smaller than I'd like.

The "campervan" that carries everything is a Condor Heritage with just 32,000km covered so far.

My Coleman MacKenzie Cabin 4 with side awning extension at Le Mans in 2013.

I spent a lot of time researching which tent to get, being tall (6'2") I wanted the most compact tent that I would have decent head room in. It is split in half, then one half is split again into two bedrooms. I can sleep in the bedrooms and I won't be in contact with the tent at either my head or feet. I can also stand upright without needing to stoop also, which makes it a far more pleasant experience all round.

The side extension allows the camping kitchen and table to live here, also allows you to leave your shoes there and not trawl any mud into the main tent. Unfortunately, this puts it over the maximum size for the 1st Tickets pitches at Le Mans (3.5mx10m), but we survived none the less this year:

When I live somewhere with more room, one of the first purchases will be a T4 Caravelle Longnose to turn into a camper/day van for doing Le Mans etc. in. Some great setups in this thread though!

Set up I have, use the Caravelle for sleeping for the odd night away along with a Quechua Base Seconds and bought a Vango Airbeam for longer trips which is a great bit of kit but I've decided to trade up for something bigger (Vango Airbeam now for sale).

Picked up this at the weekend and chomping at the bit to get away with it.

I thought I'd drag this topic into 2015 with a picture of our new to us motorhome, a Chausson Allegro. Before we bought it our search was quite specific in that we wanted a low profile with a fixed bed over a garage. These are more difficult to find than you would think, plenty with over cab beds which we didn't want or need as there are only the two of us.

We are still buying the essentials but are hoping to have a night away soon to discover what we have forgotten and to work our way around the controls. We had a caravan a few years ago so aren't total beginners.

Looks good, any inside pics?

Wish we could afford a motorhome, we are relegated to sleeping in the in-laws awning or pitching our tent biggrin

Looks really well fitted out. Having the bed at the back seems much easier than climbing above the cab. You can actually sit up in bed too laugh

Just picked up a 1992 Abbey piper 14/4 for £600 quid, our first caravan! Pretty imaculate inside and needs a wash on outside as been sat on sellers driveway for two years. They paid £2400 two years ago from a dealer and used it for one night on their driveway.
Went up to bristol to pick it up last night, the jockey wheel tightening bolt snapped off when tightening it, and a wheel fell off at gordano services! The seller took wheel off on his drive to deter thieves but clearly didnt bother tightening the nuts back up! We were just driving through the petrol station at the services to put some air in tyres and check wheels when the wheel came off in middle of the forecourt! Luckily found all four wheel nuts (two were back round in carpark) and luckily there doesnt seem to be any damage.
Towed nicely behind a mates Transit all the way down to plymouth. Just needs a good wash to the outside and its ready to roll.

An oldie, but a goodie hopefully. We've only had her 3 weeks, but we've redone most of the interior already.
