Questions for camper owners
Discussion
We had a LDV Convoy LWB/HiTop minibus converted to a race/crew bus, i removed a triple seat and the front double seat and fitted seating-come-bed, it had 6ft headroom, the 12v compressor fridge was great and the propex heater was fantastic
Sadly our uesage (20 ish days a year) didnt justify the tax/insurance/MOT, etc so we parted company

Still browsing T4s, still considering this years options.
Trying to juggle a potential house move with a vehicle purchase, I've got a feeling the house might win. It is however, not totally out of the question.
For owners who have had them, how does the 1.9TD cruise at speed? Can it do 75-80mph comfortably on a run?
I would love to be able to get one this year, but if not, I'm looking at 2 options (depending on whether we sell our house or not). A week along the coast of West Scotland (done it a couple of times in tents), or flying to Marseille and hiring one for a trip around the Alps.
Other than that, scrap both ideas, take the tent and keep saving for the van for next year!

I've got a converted T4 1.9TD which I've had for about a year now. Slow as a slow thing when you fire it up from cold, but once it's warm it's fine. It's got a metal rock and roll bed and kitchen units / leisure battery in the back, which add a fair bit of weight, but it cruises at 70+ no problem.Trying to juggle a potential house move with a vehicle purchase, I've got a feeling the house might win. Haven't used it much though in the past year and it seems like a bit of an extravagance sitting on the drive, so weighing up whether to punt it on in the spring once I've tidied up a couple of bits - great fun when we do get around to using it though!
Edited to add that there's a few things that you can do to pep up a 1.9TD - get yourself over to http://www.vwt4forum.co.uk/ if you're not there already...
