My First Caravan
Discussion
Not cheap are they!! Well i decided to get more use out of mine! I took it last week to Bosham, to a beautiful campsite. So nice, I decided this bank holiday I should stay too! So the lovely campsite owner told me to leave it all set up, and I'm heading back up Friday night, for three days off beers and BBQ's. The fact that four friends of mine and their partners have all in the last two weeks bought caravan's, and are joining me, should make it a hoot!!
Yeh, twin axle, A/C on the roof, big old gal!! I think mine is slightly shorter than yours, not much though!
Size doesnt fuss me, I thread a artic trailer through our yard at work, that people panic with Transit's in. Size isn't the issue, and its max laden is 1580kgs, my car, will tow 1600! Result!

To be replaced, by most likely contender at the moment (I bought two by accident) by a Swift Conqueror. 600/4. Big ol van, but lovely!
Bought 2 caravans by accident? That's an achievement! What types and price? Im picking it up Sunday, as Ive just sold one towcar, and the new one is having its towbar fitted on wednesday. Ill post up some pictures on Sunday of it.

I thought you had the Range Rover now?!Size doesnt fuss me, I thread a artic trailer through our yard at work, that people panic with Transit's in. Size isn't the issue, and its max laden is 1580kgs, my car, will tow 1600! Result!
I ended up with a nice range of vehicles from work to pick from, so I choose a comfy car for home use, and to tow the van when I don't have a pickup at work with a towbar. Got a Rover 75 2.0 CDT Conn Auto Saloon. Towing limit 1600kgs, 100kgs noseweight, self leveling rear suspension, it seems like an easy towcar for me

Was that the one on Ebay recently? You selling it again? Mind you might be a bit old for us as potentially getting a newer one and that would be a similar age to our existing van.
Thats the puppy. However, I wouldn't want to sell it to a PH'er having looked over it to be completely fair with you. Hence keeping the older Lunar!LouD86 said:

Oh and the missus thinks we're too old for a caravan still. I'm 32, shes 30 and the little one, 6 months!
The cheek, I'm 28, single pringle, and love it!Chrisgr31 said:
LOL what Elddis is that? Full details please! Mind you we are off to Dorset n our van in October, staying on Shorefields Merley Court site, partly because its near The Caravan Company sales site at Wimbourne!
Elddis Hurricane GT. Its a 2 berth, with rear bathroom. Had a damn good scrub of it today, loaded it up with some gear, and intend on trying it next weekend. SHould be fun!Well the new caravan, its doing well!
4 outtings, and a full intention to hit Europe for new year in a few months time. Im loving the extra space (not too bad when its just me!), and Ive done a few little repairs, and upgrades. For the money, £1242, its not a bad ol thing! And the awning it came with, well, turned out pretty nice too!

Im a CC Member too. Has been handy on a few occasions getting on certain sites we have wanted to use. Always very clean, and well maintained from my experience though.
This weekend however, off to Brands Hatch for the BTCC. One night, about 4 miles away, £25 on Grass, with hookup! Feck!

Bargains are always good! Well dragged the caravan home from Storage tonight, the first time I have attempted to get the larger one up outside my house. Jesus Holy Hell!!
The lads in the pub - oposite my archway, all came out to watch, as they didnt think it would be done. Involved mounting the pavement, and almost rubbing the pub wall. The picture doesn't show it too well, but I have 2" either side of the caravan as I go back through the walls/metal poles, its fooking tight! I think if it was 1ft larger, it wouldnt be able to swing in! Thats worrying. We do have fun, my 7.5t lorry couldnt make it when I moved in either!

Well on Sat AM, made the 4am trip up to Lydden Hill from Portsmouth, 2 hours on the dot, lovely journey up there!
After Lydden, found a lovely site 2.4 miles from Brands Hatch, where we set up for the evening, didnt even bother with Aquarolls (I have 15l hot, 60l fresh) onboard, so not an issue really.
And then in the morning, to Brands. I wasn't paying another £25 to leave the caravan on site for the evening, so took it with me!! Genuinely, according to the car park guys, the first caravan to turn up in the carpark. They get campers, but not caravans! Was brill, if a little wet!
