We fancy taking the van to Croatia in September .. has anyone any experience of campsites there? I don't think we'd want to go too far down, but maybe move around a bit?

Hi, we travelled through Croatia in 2010 and would say it is one of the best places we've visited.

The campsites were a mixed bag of quality and the pricing was on the keen side.

We stayed in Zadar, Primosten and Dubrovnik. I think the further south you go the better it is. The best site we stayed at was http://www.autocamp-adriatiq.com/en partly because the site had good facilities and the locality was breath taking.

I forget the name of the site we stayed at in Dubrovnik but it had stunnig views across the water.

We entered and left the country via ferry using jadrolinija lines, which were reasonably priced.

I can't wait to return to Croatia but given it's location it takes a while to get to from the UK.

thanks, good to know .. at the moment we're thinking of driving there through Germany into Istria, so I don't think we'd make it as far as Dubrovnik, but I'll check out your ferry route
