My VW Transporter T5 camper build

Now it was time for the bed. It won't be used to carry passengers, so I didn't need (and couldn't justify) a £2k crash tested bed, so I bought one from streamline in Wolverhampton for £715. They're made to order, so you can choose the upholstery, and they also fitted it for free. They did a good job, using spreader plates under the van to make it very secure.
I then bought a kit from ebay to hold the table when it's not in use, which I mounted to the back door.
See that back seat/bed, aren't passengers allowed to,sit in that while the van is driving?I then bought a kit from ebay to hold the table when it's not in use, which I mounted to the back door.
If not why does it have seat Belts?
Iv been looking for a double rear seat for a sprinter van that can legally carry passengers, it doesn't need to fold into a bed though.

As far as I know (and I am happy to be corrected), as long as the seat is fitted with seat belts, you can legally carry passengers on it. My bed is not pull tested, so personally, while I believe it would be legal for me to carry passengers on it, I wouldn't do. If not why does it have seat Belts?

This may help
Aaaand Photobucket have killed my thread (and thousands of other build threads no doubt).

I was going to look back though the thread but that seems a bit pointless, a picture speaks a thousand words and all that.
But can I ask what gas are you using? And do you have a metal locker for the bottle? I did look at the thread before, when the pictures were still present, and I`ve got to say you`ve done a fantastic job, much better than I can hope to achieve with my mk 6 Transit.

Sorry for not replying before now - I've been away in the camper. But can I ask what gas are you using? And do you have a metal locker for the bottle? I use a Campingaz 907, no locker, but drop out vents.
Look here on Evo Design's website, the actual photos are of my van (including the gas).

Re-hosted the pics with IMGUR, so I think that's my build thread rescued.
Nothing exciting done of late to the van, some facelift mirrors (old ones whistled at 40mph and above, which drove me nuts!), 'B' pillar blacked out, bit of interior trimming in alcantara, awning rail added.
But... I'm off to see a client of mine who does custom vehicle interiors and upholstery on Thursday to book in to have all the seats and bed retrimmed - bye bye VW 'Plaice' trim. It will be a while until he can fit me in, but I'm looking forward to it!

sorry for a thread bump, but do you have a link to the wiring details for the leisure battery, 240V hook up, interior lights, usb etc ?
Awesome build BTW very inspiring...
Thanks. Awesome build BTW very inspiring...
I don't have a wiring diagram anymore, but my kit was from Xtreme Van, the pic in this link shows the basic layout. Quite straight forward really.

PS - noticed the way you avoided drilling the floor of the van for the interior (to avoid rust i'm guessing)
How was the bed , rear seats secured ? Through the floor?
Yep, it's bolted through in four places with spreader plates underneath. The bed manufacturer/supplier fiited it though. How was the bed , rear seats secured ? Through the floor?
Thread bump time!
The van is back from the trimmers, and I am a happy camper. Not everyone likes brown seats. I do. A lot. Many T5 owners seem to want to go with black seats, with red Bentley stitching, but that's not for me. So after far too long looking at various swatches, I settled on a shade which, if memory serves me correctly, was called latte. It looks more brown/tan to me, but anyway, this is what I went for.
I'd also recently fitted electric windows, in my quest to make it as 'un-builder's van like' as possible. This left holes in the doors where the winders had been, and the black caps that came with the window kit looked carp. So, I set about making some door panels which I could get wrapped in the same colour as my seats, something which I haven't seen done before.
I bought some driver's seat armrests as fitted to higher spec models and got these fitted and trimmed at the same time. I also had the seat base on the r&r bed made longer with a knee roll and some extra foam added to the back rest, so it is now far comfier to sit on.
I will take some better photos when I get chance, but here are some phone pics in the meantime. It looks more tan than brown under false light, hence the variation in the photos.
Enough waffle, more pictures:
